VISA UPDATE FOR PHILIPPINE PASSPORT HOLDERS

Travel Buddies, thinking of traveling abroad? Unsure of the visa requirements and how to start? Worry no more! We’ll be sharing with you visa updates for these countries:

JAPAN

You may stay for up to 90 days if you apply for a Temporary Visit Visa. You may apply with one of the reasons below:
  • short-term business affairs, etc.”
  • “Visiting relatives” (includes spouse, blood relatives and relatives of up to the third degree).
  • “Visiting acquaintances” or “Tourism
REQUIREMENTS:
WHEN VISITING RELATIVES 1. Provided by visa applicant

(Note1)Including the birth certificate that can attest that the relationship of the applicant to the Japanese relatives is within the third degree.

  • A certificate of income or tax payment issued by a public agency
  • Certificate of deposit balance

  • Invitation Letter Documents explaining the reason for invitation (copies of medical checkup, maternal health log, etc.)
  • Family register
Kosekitohon’(when the inviting person or his/ her spouse is Japanese)
  • Itinerary during stay in Japan
  • A certificate of residence ‘Jyuminhyo’ (with description of his/ her family relationship with all Family members)
When the guarantor is a foreign national,) submit a photocopy of the both sides of the valid Residence card, a Certificate of residence with full details except for Individual Number(“My Number”) and Resident Record Code (Please submit the following documents if the guarantor pays in Japan who a part or all of the travel expenses)
  • Letter of guarantee
More than one of the following documents pertaining to the guarantor: (a) The latest Certificate of Income / Taxation issued by the head of administration of the place of residence, or a certificate of tax payment (Form 2) issued by the director of the tax office (Note1) Each certificate should indicate the gross income for the previous year. (Note2) Statement of Tax Withholding is not acceptable. (b)A copy of the counterfoil of final tax return with the seal of reception of the Tax Office. SOUTH KOREA

All tourist visa holders of a single-entry visa are permitted to stay in South Korea for a maximum period of 59 days.

Tourist Visa Requirements for Filipino Employees

  1. Application Form

  6. Original Certificate of Employment (must include applicant’s position, date hired, compensation, office address, HR landline number(cell-phone number is not allowed), HR e-mail address)
  7. Original Personal Bank Certificate (must include account type, current balance, account opening date, ADB)
  8. Bank Statement (original or certified true copy of bank statements/passbook for the last 3 months)
  9. Photocopy of ITR (Income Tax Return) or Form 2316 – If personally invited by Korean : Invitation Letter © of inviter’s Passport – If invited by Company in Korea: Invitation Letter © of Korean Company Business Permit

Tourist Visa Requirements for Filipino Businessmen

  1. Application Form

USA

The B1/B2 Visa is valid for 10 years, but for each entry, you are allowed to stay in the United States of American only for 180 days or 6 months (at most)

2. Passport. Must be valid for at least six months from the date of intended departure from the United States.

CANADA

 If you’re allowed to enter Canada, the border services officer may allow you to stay for less or more than 6 months. If so, they’ll put the date you need to leave by in your passport.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Valid Passport. Must have at least one-year remaining validity. Scan the bio-page;
  • Completed Form IMM5257. This is the Application for Visitor Visa Form. Fill out the items digitally and truthfully. (This only works on latest Adobe Reader version);
  • Completed Form 5645This requires your Family Information. It must be filled out digitally as well. (This only works on Adobe Reader 8 or higher version);
  • 2 recent passport size photos (35mm x 45mm). It must be taken within the last 6 months.
  • Proof of income/financial capacity. (Bank Certificate/ Bank Statement for the last 4 months).
  • Affidavit of Support. Only applicable if somebody else is sponsoring your trip. Also, attach his/her proof of financial capacity;
  • Travel history. A scanned copy of your visas (valid or expired) and your entry/exit stamps. Make sure to just put everything in 1 file;
  • Purpose of Travel. Your flight reservation, hotel reservations, and daily itinerary.

Schengen Visa Application Requirements for Philippine Citizens To apply for a Schengen visa in the Philippines, you need to submit the following documents:
  • Visa application form. Complete all of the required information and print the form.
  • A Philippine valid passport or another travel document. This travel document should be no older than ten years and with a validity of at least another three more months beyond your planned exit date from the Schengen Zone. It should also have at least two free pages for the visa sticker.
  • Two identical photos. Taken within the last three months. The photo must be taken according to the Schengen visa photography requirements as set by the Schengen countries.
  • Evidence of legal residence in the Philippines. – This could be a national ID card for Philippine nationals or a Philippine residence permit for internationals.
  • Round-trip Flight Itinerary. A two-way flight reservation from the Philippines to a Schengen country and back. It should specify your entry and exit date as well as flight numbers.
  • Europe Travel Health InsurancePurchase insurance for your whole period of stay in Europe, valid in all Schengen member states. It should have coverage of at least €30,000 for medical emergencies, as well as repatriation in case of death.
  • Proof of Accommodation. Some sort of document that shows where you will be accommodated during your stay in Europe, i.e. hotel booking, rent agreement, letter of invitation, etc.
  • Means of Subsistence. Proof that you have the financial means to support your stay in the Schengen Area.
  • A cover letter. In this letter, give more specific information on our trip, as the reasons why you want to visit the Schengen Area, which of the member states you wish to travel to, the amount of time you will be spending in this territory and other details about your trip.
Schengen visa requirements for Filipinos according to their employment status Specific required documents, based on the visa applicant’s employment status in the Philippines are as follows:
  • For Filipino employees:
    • Employment contract.
    • Current bank statement of the latest 6 months.
    • Leave permission from the employer.
    • Income Tax Return (ITR) form or Certificate of Income Tax deducted at the source of salary.
  • For the self-employed:
    • A copy of your business license in the Philippines.
    • Company bank statement of the latest 6 months.
    • Income Tax Return (ITR).
  • For Filipino students:
  • For retirees:
    • Pension statement of the latest 6 months.
  • If unemployed and married to an EU citizen:
    • Confirmation of Employment letter, no older than three months, from their spouse’s employer stating the position held within the company as well as the starting date.
    • Spouse’s valid passport.
    • An official marriage certificate.
